Tape Edger
Full time, 32 hours, four day week
At Glencraft, we craft premium mattresses with care, skill, and a clear social purpose. We are looking for a Tape Edger to join our production team, sewing mattress ticking to mattress borders with precision so every finished mattress meets our quality standards and customer expectations.
The role
You will operate specialised tape edging equipment to produce a high-quality finish on our mattresses. This is a practical, hands-on role that suits someone who takes pride in neat, accurate work and who enjoys being part of a close production team.
What you will do
Tape edging and quality
- Tape edge mattresses accurately, producing a neat, consistent finish
- Work to specification and work orders, checking size, materials, and label placement before you start
- Keep joins to a maximum of two per unit and ensure they are not visible at the label end
- Complete each unit to standard, trimming and finishing cleanly, and keeping products free from contamination
Machine care and housekeeping
- Carry out basic machine maintenance including adjustments, needle changes, and tape replacement
- Keep your machine and work area clean, tidy, and free from waste
- Report defects or issues promptly
Production flow and teamwork
- Progress work in line with the production schedule, moving to the next task with minimal direction
- Assist with moving mattresses between stages and attaching labels and tags as required
- Follow work instructions and quality standards, and contribute improvement ideas when you see opportunities
Health and safety
- Follow safe working practices and manual handling guidance
- Maintain a safe, clean work area and challenge unsafe practices when needed

Desirable
- Experience with textiles and production machinery
- Upholstery or mattress manufacturing experience
