Best mattress for sleeping on your side
Hey, Ross here from Glencraft and we’re back with another video for you about a question we get asked here alot.
What’s the best mattress for sleeping on your side.
The biggest challenge you'll face is finding a mattress that is firm enough to support your contours, but soft enough to avoid feeling pressure — particularly in your hip and shoulder. And while that mattress may feel like a unicorn, its not, and I’m here to clear things up for you.
Recommended mattress firmness
If you find that you’re tossing and turning at night it’s probably because your mattress isn’t forgiving enough on your pressure points.
Therefore, side sleepers are best suited to softer mattresses that gives you more cushioning and allows your body to sink slightly into the mattress. A medium, or medium soft mattress, is recommended to allow plenty of give in the mattress to contour to your body's natural curve whilst still keeping the spine aligned and providing maximum comfort.
We advise replacing your mattress every eight years or when you start waking up with stiffness or aches and pains; you don’t sleep as well as you did a year ago; you sleep better in other beds; or your mattress shows signs of wear and tear.
