Hey, Ross here from Glencraft and we’re back with another video for you about a question we get asked here a lot. What’s the best mattress for sleeping on your back.

A bed with the correct support, comfort and space will ensure you wake less, move about less, are less disturbed by your partner and are less likely to wake up feeling tired or aching

Recommended mattress firmness

If you’re a back sleeper and you find that you’re tossing and turning at night it’s probably because your mattress isn’t supportive enough. As a back sleeper, you’ll need more support than someone who sleeps on their side.

Though back sleepers are often served best by a firmer mattress, these can create uncomfortable pressure points on the parts of the body that tend to be lighter as such we would recommend a medium firm mattress.

Make sure you pick one with at least 1500 pocket springs and has multiple layers of soft luxurious natural fibres on either side. We advise replacing your mattress every eight years or when you start waking up with stiffness or aches and pains; you don’t sleep as well as you did a year ago; you sleep better in other beds; or your mattress shows signs of wear and tear.
